Role with AIFE: Vice President – Europe
Professor Stephen Garrett is Vice President – Europe at AIFE, where he is responsible for regional strategy, university partnerships, and the development of joint education and research initiatives across the UK and Europe.
Professor Garrett is an experienced academic and senior higher education leader, with more than two decades of university leadership experience in the United Kingdom and extensive expertise in transnational education, research collaboration, and STEM program development. His career spans academic leadership, institutional transformation, and strategic engagement across the UK, Australia, and Sweden.
Prior to joining AIFE, Professor Garrett held Pro Vice-Chancellor roles at Aston University, where he led major organisational transformation initiatives and established its London campus. He has also held senior academic leadership positions in engineering, applied mathematics, and actuarial science at the University of Leicester.
Professor Garrett maintains an active academic profile in engineering mathematics, with research interests in fluid dynamics and applied mathematical methods. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
At AIFE, Professor Garrett is responsible for driving regional growth, strengthening strategic partnerships, and supporting the expansion of transnational education and research initiatives across Europe.
