Professor Joanne Tipper is Vice President – Academic at AIFE, where she leads the Academic Division and provides strategic oversight of academic quality, governance, and global program delivery.

Professor Tipper brings extensive senior leadership experience across the Australian and UK higher education sectors. Prior to joining AIFE, she held roles including Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at RMIT University and senior academic leadership positions at the University of Technology Sydney, where she led large-scale academic portfolios, governance frameworks, and transnational education initiatives.

An internationally recognised academic in biomedical engineering, Professor Tipper has over 30 years of experience in research and academic leadership. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, secured significant competitive research funding, and established global collaborations across academia, industry, and healthcare sectors.

At AIFE, Professor Tipper is responsible for advancing academic excellence, strengthening academic governance, and supporting the development of innovative, globally connected education models in partnership with universities worldwide.
